And the winner is…
If you tuned in to this year’s Golden Globe awards, you saw actress Kate Winslet accept the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture. Well, we believe she deserves an even greater award, Most Honest Actress in a Real Life Role!
In a recent article, Kate spoke about her struggles with pelvic floor weakness and its embarrassing result. “I can't jump on trampolines anymore. I wet myself. It's bloody awful, especially if you're wearing a skirt. When you've had a few children, you know, it's just what happens. It's amazing, two sneezes, I'm fine. Three, it's game over," she said.
Bravo Kate, for bringing the issue of pelvic floor weakness and incontinence out from behind a stigma of shame and embarrassment. While it’s definitely not a subject most like to talk about, pelvic floor disorders affect almost one quarter of all women. Whether the cause is childbirth, heavy lifting or a decline in estrogen levels with age, there is help and hope for strengthening the muscles of the pelvic floor. Perhaps along with her award, we should send Kate one of our IntiFit Premium Kegel Exercise Kits. Kegel on Kate! We’ll be rooting for you at the Oscars!
